FaceDate has a zero tolerance policy and does not allow, condone support, or tolerate Child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) which encompasses any act or behavior that sexually exploits, abuses, or endangers children, including grooming, sextortion, trafficking, and creating or distributing child sexual abuse material (CSAM).

Key Aspects of CSAE:

Definition:

CSAE includes content or behavior that sexually exploits, abuses, or endangers children.

Examples:

  • Grooming: Building a relationship with a child with the intent to exploit them sexually.
  • Sextortion: Using threats or coercion to force a child into sexual activity.
  • Trafficking: Moving a child for sexual exploitation.
  • Other Exploitative Activities: Contact for sexual purposes, molestation, statutory rape, exposure, incest, or other sexually exploitive activities.
Impact:

CSAE is a serious crime that causes lasting harm to victims.

Legal Framework:

Federal law prohibits the production, advertisement, transportation, distribution, receipt, sale, access with intent to view, and possession of CSAM.

Online Exploitation:

Online child sexual exploitation offenses are increasing due to the use of digital devices and the internet.

Prevention and Response:

Organizations and companies can create Child Safety Content Policies to gather definitions and document enforcement guidelines to combat online child sexual exploitation and abuse (OCSEA).

International Standards:

Various international instruments address the protection of children against sexual exploitation and abuse, including the Council of Europe Convention on the Protection of Children against Sexual Exploitation and Sexual Abuse.
